Commercial driver and conductor strip naked to avoid arrest in Lagos

A commercial bus driver and his conductor this morning stripped naked at the Allen Avenue/Obafemi Awolowo Way roundabout in Ikeja to prevent some policemen (seen in the pic) from towing their vehicle and arresting them for alleged traffic violation. Their stunt caused heavy traffic around the area this morning, heard it actually worked as the policemen left the scene quickly.

Nigeria’s Oil City, Port Harcourt witnessed one of the biggest parties of the year last weekend as the Hennessy Artistry 2013 club tour stormed the garden city with some of Nigeria’s biggest superstars. 
Hosted by popular on air personality Olisa Adibua, the event held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Lamborghini club in GRA, Port Harcourt and saw guests from different parts of the country come to witness the ultimate Hennessy experience. 

With energetic performances from fast rising acts: Pucado and Phyno, the event kicked off on a high note and fans sure got in the party mood. 

Dbanj brought the house down with pulsating performances also thrilling guests in attendance with his first live performance of this year’s Artistry theme song.

Port Harcourt’s biggest artiste, Burna Boy was also in town to party with Dbanj and fans present.
Dbanj will make his second club appearance in Lagos later in September. The next stop for the Hennessy Artistry club tour this weekend is Club DV8 in Victoria Island, Lagos and will feature performances from Phyno, Kay Switch and Chidinma.

This year's Hennessy Artistry 2013 supporting acts include Olamide, Chidinma, Vector, Pucado, Phyno, Seyi Shay, Show Dem Camp, Kay Switch and Sean Tizzle were announced three weeks ago and have promised fans the time of their lives this year.

Isha Sesay of CNN weds Leif Coorlim of CNN

CNN anchor/correspondent Isha Sesay married her man Leif Coorlim, who is also a CNN staff, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Atlanta Georgia yesterday Sunday August 18th. 

"Our day exceeded my wildest dreams," Sesay tells People. "It was magical. When I saw Leif standing at the end of the aisle, I felt as if my heart would explode. I married the man of my dreams in front of the people we care about the most. And then we partied the night away."

Isha, 37 (Sierre Leonean ), and Leif, 34 (American), who is the executive editor of The CNN Freedom Project, met in 2008. Happy married life to them.

Akwa Ibom LG chairman arrested for smuggling $82,000 into the US

The executive chairman of Essien Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom state, Mr Nse Ntuen, was arrested at the BWI International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday August 16th for smuggling $82, 000 into the US. The Maryland State Police Department confirmed the arrest day before yesterday Sunday August 18th, saying Mr Ntuen did not declare the money with the US custom officials. They said he only declared $5,000, only for an additional $77,000 to be found in his bag.

Mr Ntuen explained that he brought the money into the US to donate it at the Annual International Convention of the Akwa Ibom Indigenes in the US and Canada which held on Saturday at the Marriot Hotel in Washington, DC. 

Mr Ntuen was released after five hours in custody but he didn't leave with the money. The Maryland State Police Department confiscated it.

B2K singer Raz B off life support, smiling and responsive

Former B2K singer Raz B, who slipped into a coma after being hit in the face with a bottle during a fight at a nightclub in China, is out of his coma and in stable condition, TMZ reports. 

Raz B came out of his life-threatening coma on Sunday at a hospital in China and doctors say it's a miracle he survived. Raz is said to be breathing on his own, smiling and responsive. He has not been released from the hospital as close friends tell TMZ he will be staying there for a few more days to be monitored. 

Oscar Pistorius charged with premediated murder of his girlfriend

Paralympian Oscar Pistorious was in court today and was formally charged with the premeditated murder of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. His lawyers had been hoping for the lesser charge of manslaughter after Oscar claimed he shot Reeva dead in his home on Thursday February 14 2013 after mistaken her for an intruder. Thankfully the courts didn't buy his story and he will now face a murder trial which will run from now to March 20 2014 at North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

The 6-time paralympic sprint champion could also face extra charges of allegedly discharging a firearm recklessly in two other incidents. If found guilty of premeditated murder, Oscar could be spending the rest of his life in jail.

How Prophet Ireti Ajanaku died in his sleep

Prophet Ireti Ajanaku, the spiritual leader of Christ Victory Chapel International and gospel singer Tope Alabi's spiritual father, has passed on. According to a source close to the late Prophet, he fell ill on Saturday in his country home in Gbongan Osun state. A nurse was brought to treat him and she gave him sedative to help him sleep. By the time his aides went to wake him up for Sunday service the following morning, they found him dead. The man of God died in his sleep between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. His aides didn't confirm the nature of his illness.

Prophet Ajanaku was in his late 40's. May his soul rest in peace...amen.
